#34 YOSHIMURA SUZUKI Shell ADVANCE RACING TEAM

The 37th Suzuka 8H is being held on 27th July 2014. Since Yoshimura team has been racing from the 1st year continuously, it is going to be our 37th Suzuka 8H race. However it is not ordinarily race as it is our 60th anniversary since my granddad started the business in 1954 and the Suzuka 8H this year is going to be our memorial race to celebrate the history. We have strong lineup in our riders, and they are Takuya Tsuda who is making lot of progress at his second year in Superbike and Josh Waters who showed great performance at Suzuka 8H in 2012. We will be having another potential rider to make the team even stronger. It is going to be a very tough race again this year as there are strong Honda teams, there are SERT, YART or other experienced teams from WEC and also Kawasaki factory team is back to the race. Still then we are convinced that we can beat them with our “Racing spirit” and “Strong bond”. We are really glad we have two teams this year and #12 is going to be formed as the Legend team with Kevin Schwanz & Satoshi Tsujimoto. They are the pair who finished 3rd in 1986 and both are really the legendary riders. I am going to support them a lot, however my goal is leading #34 team to the victory, and it is going to be a big fight even within a Yoshimura Suzuki Shell ADVANCE! Thank you for all of your support, and we will do our best to get our 5th victory of Suzuka 8 Hours this year.

I’m really excited to race this year at the Suzuka 8-Hour race in July with Team Yoshimura Suzuki. I have always been interested in racing here, because it’s an iconic race and it’s also one of my favorite tracks. I have good memories of racing there with my first GP podium in 2002, 250cc class. For me, it will be a new experience to do an endurance race, to share a bike, and also to ride this Superbike machinery. It will be a special event because it’s the 60th Anniversary of the Yoshimura Team and I’m really happy to be there for it. I will do my very best to win this race for Suzuki and Yoshimura.

Josh Waters

I am very excited to be joining Yoshimura Suzuki Shell ADVANCE for this Suzuka 8 hour since some of my best racing memories have been at Suzuka and with Yoshimura Suzuki! My team mate, Takuya is very fast and we have a great team behind us. So, we are going to be one of the strongest team this year. Yoshimura Suzuki every year at the Suzuka 8 hour is fighting for the victory, this year we will try even harder to achieve the best result as it is a very special year for Yoshimura as its their 60th year since company has started. I feel very lucky to be apart of it.

Takuya Tsuda

I am so glad and excited to race Suzuka 8H again at Yoshimura Suzuki Shell ADVANCE. It is the 60th anniversary for Yoshimura and I am proud to be in the team. Last year, we were in the winning position but finished second after a couple of racing accidents. We do not need such experience again and we will just push hard to finish race at the highest podium position. Since my team mate Josh Waters is very fast at Suzuka, my team crews are always reliable and team will build the best race machine, so it is going to be possible. We will do our best at the 8H, and will try to bring the 5th victory for the team!
